Lee Zieger picked up nature, birding, and butterfly viewing and photography in the 1990s. This led Lee to leadership and founding of the Brownsville International Birding Festival and Rio Grande Delta Audubon. Nature, birding, butter-flying, and photography guided trips in Texas and Mexico began. His most notable guest was President and Mrs. Carter. He has images in national magazines like photos of nature and people.

Lee grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. He acquired Spanish while growing up and spent three years in Madrid, Spain.  His roots in the Rio Grande Valley and Spanish have given him a unique advantage in relating to Deep South Texas and Mexico photography.

His photo collection has come from Deep South Texas, Mexico, Arizona, and Canada. The printer uses pigment inks good for over 20 year according to Epson.

Lee’s most memorable experience was taking pictures of President Carter and his wife on a birding five day four night trip he organized and led in the Rio Grande Valley.

In addition to his photography, he does photo and nature tours in the Rio Grande Valley and NE Mexico.
